Information we collect

Location. When you grant location permission, the app uses your device location to center the map and find records near you. Approximate coordinates are sent in API requests so we can return nearby public records. We do not build a profile of your movements, store a location history, or sell location data.

Account information. Sign in with Apple is required to access live registry data. We receive the identifier Apple provides and, if you choose to share it, your email. We use this only to maintain your account, session, and subscription status.

Purchases. Subscriptions and lifetime unlocks are processed by Apple. We receive transaction records from Apple to confirm your entitlement; we never receive your payment card details.

Inaccuracy reports. If you flag a record, we store the report category and record ID so we can reconcile it against the originating registry.

Diagnostics. We may collect limited technical logs (such as error rates) on our servers to keep the Service reliable. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that track you across apps.

How we use information

We use information to operate the Service: to show registry records near a location, to maintain your account and subscription, to respond to support requests, and to improve reliability and accuracy. We do not use your information for advertising and we do not sell it.

Offender registry data

Records shown in the Service — including names, addresses, offense summaries, and mugshots when published by the source — are public information from official government sex-offender registries. We are not the source of this information and are not affiliated with any government agency. Mugshots are fetched server-side and proxied so your device does not contact registry hosts directly.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service (such as cloud hosting and Apple for payments), and only as needed to provide it. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention & your choices

You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. You can delete your account and associated server data from the app's Profile screen, or by emailing us. Deleting the app from your device alone does not delete server-side account data. Purchases are billed by Apple — cancel subscriptions separately in App Store settings. We retain information only as long as needed to provide the Service or as required by law.

Children

PredatorFinder is intended for users 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
